Elizabeth in Beijing, China
  • What is your go-to travel gear? I try to pack light, although sometimes that isn't easy when traveling with a toddler. But, 99% of the time you'll find me packing clothes in Eagle Creek packing envelopes* and setting them inside my favorite LeSportsac travel luggage*. For days out or traveling, the Skip Hop pronto changing pad* is essential to protect Baby ISO from gross bathroom floors -- you'd be amazed how many places don't have diaper changing pads.
  • Favorite travel shoes? Comfortable feet are key when traveling. I love Toms canvas slip ons or any ankle boots by the Lithuanian shoe brand Lorenzo.
  • Where have you lived in the past? I was born and bred in southeastern Connecticut. I went college in Keene, New Hampshire and grad school in Madison, Wisconsin. I've lived abroad in Yunnan, China; Vilnius, Lithuania; and currently reside in Florence, Italy.
  • What are your current favorite books? I love reading and often enjoy winding down before bed with a good book. My favorite genres are mysteries, sci-fi, and fantasy, although I also enjoy a good motivational book like Girl Boss or My Creative (Side) Business. My current favorites, though, are The Tiger's Wife by Tea Obreht* and The Garden of Evening Mists by Tan Twan Eng*.
  • Where are you currently wanderlusting for? I feel like new places get added to my list every day, especially given that I edit travel articles for the website Trip101! I think my top picks right now have to be Thailand, The Philippines, Montreal, and Pennsylvania.
  • What camera do you use? I use the Nikon D3300* on most posts from August 2016 on, an Olympus on posts prior to August 2016 and some misc. more recent posts, and the GoPro HERO4 on occasional posts.
Pompidoo camera bag
  • What camera bags do you love? I'm currently loving my Pompidoo Lima camera bag* for day outings and my Crumpler backpack for longer trips.
  • What are your upcoming travel plans? Since we are moving soon, we don't have a ton of travel plans set for the upcoming school year -- but I'm sure we will soon enough. For now we've got June in Vilnius; July, August, and September in Florence, Italy; and Baby ISO and I are heading solo to Connecticut for my cousin's wedding in October.
  • Can you write for my brand/website? Most likely, yes! Please visit In Search Of's Work With Me page or email luyoutravel@gmail.com for more details.
  • What is your current travel purchase wish-list? Right now I'm really lusting after a medium-sized Eagle Creek packing cube* to easily pack Baby ISO's toys during travel.
