Giardino Delle Rose: Rose Garden With Views Of Florence

Open year round, the Giardino delle Rose is such a beautiful place to go when you're looking to escape the crowds of Florence yet still enjoy great views. A couple of weeks ago, we strolled over to the Rose Garden to enjoy the peak of rose blooming season in mid-May and were rewarded with views of Florence's famous skyline. While there, the lawns were full of couples and families relaxing together, enjoying some snacks, and the fragrant, blooming roses planted throughout the garden.

If you're visiting the garden with kids, keep your eyes out for the Italian wall lizards. And do note that the garden isn't the best for a stroller, but if you're willing to carry it up steps, you can make it work. Best thing of all, the Giardino delle Rose offers free entrance for all, which is great in a notoriously expensive city.
