Travel And Expat Happenings February 2018

February was a great month for travel in the ISO household. With both Viareggio and Marrakesh, we haven't traveled this month since Baby ISO was an infant.

Viareggio, Italy: Just under two-hours from Florence by train, Viareggio makes a great day trip, especially for Carnival!

Marrakesh, Morocco: I lucked out with the window seat on our way to Marrakesh and got to see the main sights of Pisa as we took off, plus the beautiful landscape of the Atlas Mountains surrounding Marrakesh. Our trip was really different for us (we shopped and didn't see the main sights), but it was so culturally interesting and it was exciting for us to experience a new continent together.

I'm really thankful for our February travels; though it was a busy month, it was also exhilarating and energizing. It's amazing what a new destination will do for the spirit!

Mini Reviews

Florence & Tuscany 17th edition guidebook by Rick Steves*. I bought this for my mom for Christmas to help her plan for my parents' recent trip to Florence. Now that they're back in the U.S., I'm borrowing the guidebook and it is wonderful--perhaps the best guide for the area. I'm currently using it to plan our upcoming getaway to Lucca and simultaneously dreaming of Siena!

I laughed aloud to this post by Monica from the Travel Hack about parents really, really needing a vacation. Yes, yes we do.

Connie from Connie Consumes had me drooling over the amazing food she enjoyed in Singapore, one of my favorite cities.

How was your month? What did you do? What are your plans for March?
