Sometimes, living in Lithuania can be a challenge, so I wanted to focus this year on forgetting about the challenges and enjoying the positives. I've decided to start a monthly post (the second Friday of each month) on the more creative side of Lithuania. In previous posts I've written about Uzupis, which is truly a creative mecca. For this series I wanted to focus on creative events, unique aspects of the culture or language, and cool places that I find around Lithuania. If you have any suggestions I'd love to hear them!
If you would like to participate in sharing creative things about where you live, tag your photos on Instagram or tweets on Twitter with #CreativeLithuania, #CreativeHomeTown, or #CreativeLocale. I'd love to see the creative side of every country!

Earlier this fall I attend a Beer Marathon. What is a beer marathon you ask? It is basically a bar crawl race. Pretty awesome if you love beer and want to try out new bars around a city!
The Beer Marathon has been run for 10 years. In addition to finding new bars and trying beers the person who completes the bar crawl the quickest wins a secret prize (this year it was a refrigerator). The Rules: 1) Sign up, 2) Don your shirt, 3) Walk or run to the bars on your map, 4) Get a stamp at each bar on your map. You can win bonus points by the volume of beer your drink!
I'm so glad I learned about the Beer Marathon. I thought it was such a fun event and I loved trying all of these new bars. I also went to parts of Vilnius that I hadn't spent a lot of time in before, which is great! I've certainly found some new beer favorites and bar favorites.
| Yep, they are actually running and chugging beers |
Check out my other Creative Lithuania post here.
I'm linking up with the Sunday Traveler and Social Saturday.

I LOVE the idea behind this series, and I'm going to make sure that I'm following you on Instagram right now!!
ReplyDeleteThank you! If you have any creative or off-beat things to share about Modena I'd love to see photos or hear about them on Twitter!
DeleteAgreed - great idea for a series! And how hilarious that the prize was a fridge?!
ReplyDeletePeople were serious about winning that fridge too! We saw people running from bar to bar! If you want to participate by sharing off-beat things about where you live just use the hashtags!
DeleteOH my! I can't imagine a beer marathon. Is it a full marathon? www.eatallovertheworld.weebly.com
ReplyDeleteI don't think it was actually a full marathon - they just wanted to use the word! If you want to participate by sharing off-beat things about where you live just use the hashtags!
